The Congressional Basketball Game, hosted by the Hoops for Youth Foundation, is a time-honored tradition that unites members of Congress, staffers, and the lobbying community in a spirited competition for a cause that transcends the game itself. Founded with the vision of supporting local children in the Washington, D.C. area, the event brings together those who work in and around Capitol Hill to give back to the community that surrounds and supports them.

Former Congressman Jack Quinn from Buffalo and former Congressman Tom Barrett from Wisconsin have been instrumental in shaping the legacy of this game. Their leadership and dedication to public service have inspired countless others to join in the effort to make a tangible difference in the lives of children. Paul Miller of Miller Wenhold Capitol Strategies has also played a pivotal role, leveraging his deep connections within the political and lobbying communities to ensure the event’s continued success.

The goal of the Congressional Basketball Game is simple yet profound: to come together as a community, celebrate the city we work in, and support the kids who call it home. Each year, the game raises crucial funds to provide local children with the resources they need to thrive, from housing and food to educational opportunities. It’s more than just a game; it’s a powerful demonstration of what can be achieved when people from different backgrounds and political affiliations unite for a common cause.
